The Weeknd Shares New Single ‘Heartless’

After teasing a new track called ‘Blinding Lights’ earlier this week, The Weeknd has shared a new single entitled ‘Heartless’.

It’s the first new solo single from the crooner since his My Dear Melancholy EP was released last year. His last studio album was 2016’s Starboy.

That’s not to say he hasn’t kept busy, though. In February of this year, he collabed with Kendrick Lamar for ‘Pray For Me’. A couple months later in April, the singer released track ‘Power Is Power’ with Travis Scott and SZA.

In classic Weeknd style, ‘Heartless’ sees the singer – real name Abel Tesfaye – meditate on returning to old ways and attempting to find meaning in material pleasures, while ultimately acknowledging “All this money and this pain got me heartless.”

Before sharing the new song, The Weeknd wrote “Tonight we start a brain melting psychotic chapter let’s go,” on social media, which presumably means we can expect quite a lot of new music from the singer over the coming weeks.

New song ‘Blinding Lights’ was previously teased in a new ad for Mercedes-Benz, which stars The Weeknd himself. A full Mercedes-Benz film starring the singer is scheduled to be released 29th November.
