Evanescence Confirm New Album ‘The Bitter Truth’

Evanescence have made good on their promise of new music in 2020, announcing the forthcoming release of a new album titled The Bitter Truth.

The album will be their follow up to 2017’s Synthesis and will also be their fifth LP to date.

The new record will be teased further when the band drop the first single ‘Wasted On You’ next Friday, April 24.

“We promised you a new album in 2020 and we won’t let anything stop us,” Evanescence posted to their socials.

In addition, 50 lucky fans who pre-save the album will get to listen to the new tune on a Zoom call with Amy Lee a day ahead of its release.

“The songs came from all different places, they’re not all in the same vein,” Lee told Loudwire recently.

“It’s going really great. It’s a combination of a lot of things… It’s definitely 100 percent us, but it’s also taking risks, and I think it’s meaningful — deeply meaningful.

“A lot of it has attitude.”

The last bit of music we got from the band was the 2019 cover of Fleetwood Mac’s classic Rumours cut ‘The Chain’ as part of their contribution to the soundtrack for Gears 5, (the latest in the Gears of War video game franchise).
