Dixie Chicks Postpone New Album ‘Gaslighter’ Indefinitely

Last month, the Dixie Chicks returned after a lengthy absence by announcing a new album called ‘Gaslighter’ was on the horizon, sharing its excellent title track – their first new song in 14 years. It was originally scheduled to hit shelves next week on Friday, 1st May.

Sadly, the band have now announced that the album’s release date has been pushed back indefinitely, with no hard release date set.

The trio have not provided an official reason as to the album’s delay, but they do join a slew of artists who have pushed back their album release date lately, most of which due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last month, Haim announced they were postponing the release of third album Women in Music Pt. III, originally scheduled for this Friday, 24th April. According to iTunes, the record is now scheduled to come out in August.

Co-produced with pop wizard Jack Antonoff, Gaslighter will be the first new album from Dixie Chicks since 2006’s Taking the Long Way.
