Watch Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl And More Perform For Preservation Hall Livestream

Over the weekend, historic New Orleans venue Preservation Hall hosted a livestream benefit show for the Preservation Hall Foundation along with musicians of Preservation Hall.

Closing out the evening was a performance by Paul McCartney and Irma Thomas performing ‘When The Saints Go Marching In’ that saw the pair joined by the likes of Dave Grohl and Elvis Costello, among many others. McCartney primarily handled trumpet throughout the song, leaving the vocals to Thomas and a wide array of guests.

The benefit show was a mix of both live-streamed and pre-recorded and archival footage, with artists including Beck and Arcade Fire contributing. The former shared a video performing Midnite Vultures hit ‘Sexx Laws’, while Arcade Fire shared footage of them performing ‘Wake Up’ with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band at Karnaval 2020 back in February. Grohl performed a solo acoustic rendition of Foo Fighters favourite ‘Best of You’.

My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Jon Batiste, PJ Morton and Nathaniel Rateliff were also among those who performed as part of the lengthy online event.
