Jimmy Barnes Thanks Hospital Staff With Beatles Cover After Overnight Hospitalisation

Cold Chisel frontman Jimmy Barnes was rushed to the emergency room at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney last night, with the musician thanking staff following the overnight stay.

“I spent last night in ER at St Vincent Hospital and I want to thank the amazing staff who took care of me,” wrote Barnes in a tweet earlier today.

The rock legend followed it up with a cover of The Beatles‘ 1976 Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band favourite ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’. Barnesy dedicated the rendition to the staff at the hospital along with his wife Jane, who rushed him to the hospital after Barnes experienced a stomach bug.

“I had an unexpected visit to St. Vincent’s Emergency last night. Non-COVID related, by the way, I was just a bit crook,” Barnes says at the beginning of the video. “I was well looked after by all our mates, doctors and nurses and staff at St Vinnies.”

Barnes has been performing regular performances on social media throughout the isolation period, often featuring appearances from members of his extended family.
