Hockey Dad Announce ‘Brain Candy’ Cereal Boxes, Drive-In Show Livestream

Wollongong duo Hockey Dad are currently preparing to release their third studio album Brain Candy at the end of the month, and to celebrate, they’ve announced a couple of surprises.

For one, the band have today revealed they’ve created their own Brain Candy breakfast cereal boxes, and will be delivering it to select fans in New South Wales via contactless delivery.

“We believe all Australians are entitled to an imbalanced breakfast made with 97% whole-brains and we intend on making sure they get it”, commented the band’s Billy Fleming.

To clarity, the Brain Candy brekky bundle – which pre-orders are available for here – includes the band’s new album, exclusive Hockey Dad merch packaged in a collectable breakfast cereal box.

“There is some actual edible Brain Candy in there, and who are we to say you shouldn’t tip the lollies into a cereal bowl and pour some milk over it?” says the band’s Zach Stephenson.

“Big corporations have been feeding kids sugar for breakfast for years, why stop now?” adds Fleming.

Plus, next week the band will play a pair of hometown drive-in album launch shows at Bulli Showground in Wollongong. If you haven’t been able to nab yourself a ticket – never fear! The band will be streaming the first show via YouTube on the day of the album’s release – Friday, 31st July. You’ll be able to tune in online from 8.15pm AEST.

Earlier this month, the duo announced a slew of rescheduled Brain Candy Australian tour dates. Originally set to take place in June, the shows have been moved to April next year – more details on that here.
