Watch Amy Shark’s Breathtaking Performance Of ‘Everybody Rise’ At The Sydney Opera House

Amy Shark has delivered a breathtaking rendition of latest single ‘Everybody Rise’ in an empty Bennelong Restaurant at the Sydney Opera House as part of new ABC live music series The Sound over the weekend.

Playing on acoustic guitar and backed up by the Australian Girls Choir, the new rendition pares down the big pop sensibilities of the original to its bare elements, making for an altogether haunting performance.

“Privileged to play a very special version of Everybody Rise inside the Sydney Opera House for The Sound,” wrote Shark on Facebook. “Thank you to the Australian Girls Choir for joining me, you are all so damn incredible. I really love this version and I hope you do as well.”

The Sound launched back in July, with Shark’s rendition of ‘Everybody Rise’ appearing on the third episode of the series. Previously, we’ve seen stunning performances from the likes of DMA’S, Paul Kelly, BENEE, Angie McMahon, The Teskey Brothers and more.

Filmed and created by Mushroom Vision, the weekly series showcases some of the country’s most exciting artists through exclusive, pre-recorded live performances along with collaborations and interviews. It’s hosted by Recovery legend Jane Gazzo with music news by Zan Rowe.

Watch Shark perform ‘Everybody Rise’ inside Bennelong Restaurant at the Sydney Opera House below. New episodes of The Sound air every Sunday at 5.30pm, with an encore the following Saturday at 12.30pm. It’s also available to stream via iview.
