Watch Amy Shark Join Petey On Stage In Sydney

Amy Shark made a surprise appearance last night (February 7) on stage at Marrickville’s Factory Theatre during the debut headlining Sydney show for American emo-rock singer-songwriter Petey. The multi-platinum singer-songwriter and current Australian Idol judge was introduced by Petey during his song ‘Did I Mention I’m Sorry’, with Shark taking lead on the second verse. The pair then danced together, and hugged at the end of the song.

‘Did I Mention I’m Sorry’ was originally released in August of 2023 as the second single from Petey’s second studio album, USA. Upon its release, Petey described the song as “a high-octane anthem for anyone who’s ever been caught in a loop of missteps and half-hearted apologies.”

Shark is currently based in Sydney filming the new season of Australian Idol, where she is joined on the judging panel by returning original judge Marcia Hines as well as Kyle Sandilands. She recently released a new single entitled ‘Beautiful Eyes’, although it has not yet been confirmed as to whether the song is part of her as-yet-unannounced third studio album.

Petey, meanwhile, has been in Australia for the past week undertaking his first-ever Australian tour. He was joined in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane by Dear Seattle, while Sly Withers supported in acoustic duo mode for the Perth show and folk-punk trio Smallest Horse joined the show as opener in Brisbane.

Petey has one final stop on his tour this weekend, where he will head to Launceston to perform at this year’s Party In The Paddock festival. Other artists on this year’s line-up include Rudimental, Milky Chance, The Darkness and K. Flay.
