Alex The Astronaut Calls Out Mark Latham For Online Bullying

Alex The Astronaut has told Mark Latham to “stop” after he quote retweeted her to call her an “old man”. The pair had already had Twitter beef, after Latham was bothered by her involvement with a climate event.

Alex The Astronaut tweeted back on Friday, 20th November a photo of herself with the caption, “Thank you to [Out Magazine] for including me in their top 100 LGBT+ people of 2020 along side so many brilliant people.”

Then on Saturday, 12th December —a whole three weeks later— Mark Latham quote retweeted it saying, “I cannot listen to this old man anymore.”

“Stop,” replied Alex.

“I’ve never met you this is just online bullying.”

For context, earlier this month Jack River organised a New Energy climate Panel which Alex The Astronaut performed at.

One Nation’s Mark Latham tweeted about it.

“You can’t make this stuff up,” he wrote.

“On Thursday night at the Seymour Centre, Matt Kean and Shadow Minister for Surrender, Adam Searle, will present their new joint 100% renewables policy, set to the music of ‘Alex The Astronaut’, as organised by another airhead singer, Holly Rankin.”

Alex The Astronaut and Jack River clapped back with tweets of their own.

“Hi Mark, strange tweet maybe have a nap,” wrote Alex The Astronaut.

“I’ve got a physics/ maths degree and Holly’s studying law, I see you studied economics. Maybe you should go back and have a look at climate science. Scary stuff. Hope you aren’t too worked up about this. That’d be a sad way to live.”

“We’d love to have you along Mark, but we don’t have the venue for 30+ hrs,” replied Jack River.
