You may remember a while back when Serj Tankian shared that he had a whole bunch of material ready to go and that he was considering putting that out as a solo project. Well, today he’s come through with his plans, and has teased the first single from his upcoming solo EP, Elasticity.
The material featured on the EP was originally meant for System Of A Down, however in a chat with Spin, he said that the group were unable to ‘see eye to eye” on the works, so they did not progress.
Earlier today, he posted a clip to Twitter that features a short video featuring the forthcoming track, ‘Elasticity’. “Can’t want for you all to check it out,” he said.
Tankian also said that a video clip to accompany the track will be shared via his Youtube at 3PM AEST this Friday. The clip was produced by Ilya Naishuller and directed by Vlad Kaptur.
This week, System Of A Down officially launched their clip for ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’. Alongside single ‘Protect The Land’, the two tracks mark the band’s first new release in 15 years.
An official release date for the EP has not yet been announced. Listen to the snippet of ‘Elasticity’ below.
