Amyl and the Sniffers Release New Single ‘Hertz’

Melbourne punks Amyl and the Sniffers will release their second album, Comfort To Me, this weekend. In anticipation of its release, the band have unveiled the new single ‘Hertz’.

The new track comes paired with a music video from PHC Films. Across multiple scenes and costume changes, the video brings attention to unique force of nature that is Amyl and the Sniffers’ frontperson Amy Taylor.

“‘Hertz’ is a daydream of wanting to go to the country/bush and see landscapes other than the city,” said Taylor. “[It’s a] repulsed by confinement kind of daydream.

“It was written in 2019 but very much so sounds like a pandemic song.”

Amyl and the Sniffers recorded Comfort To Me with producer Dan Luscombe (Courtney Barnett, Jaala, ex-The Drones). ‘Hertz’, like earlier singles ‘Security’ and ‘Guided By Angels’, sounds bloody excellent.

The album is out this Friday, 10th August through B2B Records. The band are hosting a special Comfort To Me livestream on Tuesday, 5th October. Grab your tickets here.
