Twilight At Taronga’s 2022 summer concert series will kick off on Friday, 28th January. The programme includes a total of ten events, stretching out until late February.
Indie-folk lifer Josh Pyke will get things started on opening night, before the likes of Winston Surfshirt, Washington, Odette, The Church and San Cisco take their turns at entertaining the animals. The series will come to a blockbuster end on Saturday, 19th February with a performance from animal lover par excellence, Daryl Braithwaite.
Twilight At Taronga is a unique concert experience. The stage overlooks Sydney Harbour, while punters take a place on the lawns of Taronga Zoo’s natural amphitheatre. “We love Twilight at Taronga!” said the zoo’s community conservation manager, Belinda Fairbrother. “Not only for the incredible line-up of Aussie music artists, but because at Taronga we pride ourselves on promoting sustainable events.”
In 2022, they’ll be promoting the Litter Free Oceans Campaign, which aims to reduce single use plastics. Twilight At Taronga’s backstage area became plastic free in 2015 and they’ve since introduced plant-based food packaging for straws, cutlery and drinking cups, which are later composted.
