Prepare to feel everything all at once – Deafheaven are heading back to Australia this July for their biggest headline run yet, bringing their genre-warping wall of sound to stages across the country.
Presented by Destroy All Lines, the tour will see the San Francisco heavy innovators tear through six cities, joined by US shoegaze favourites Nothing and hardcore firestarters SPY (except Brisbane, soz). It’s a stacked bill that perfectly mirrors Deafheaven’s whole deal – beauty and brutality, melody and mayhem, all colliding in one big, cathartic experience.
Deafheaven – ‘Magnolia’
If you’ve kept even half an eye on their evolution, you’ll know Deafheaven have spent the last decade-plus refusing to sit still. From the game-changing glow of Sunbather to the shimmering left-turn of Infinite Granite, they’ve built a rep as one of heavy music’s most boundary-pushing acts – and their latest album Lonely People With Power only doubles down on that legacy. It’s expansive, emotional, and deeply human, diving into themes of identity, trauma and connection while still delivering those signature, sky-scraping sonic crescendos.
And live? Forget it. Deafheaven shows are full-body experiences.
