Having already been announced as part of the stacked roster for Perth Festival 2014, fans of experimental hip-hop pioneer DJ Shadow now have even more reason to celebrate, with the announcement that the instrumental legend will be playing a string of headline shows.
Best known for his universally acclaimed debut, Endtroducing…, widely regarded as the first full-length record to be entirely constructed from samples, DJ Shadow will be touring on the heels of his fourth LP, The Less You Know, the Better, which features vocals from Talib Kweli and others.
This former UNKLE member will be kicking off his Australia-New Zealand tour at Brisbane’s Family Nightclub on Friday, 7th February, slinking down the East Coast before his spot at Auckland’s Splore Festival, then Red Eyeing it back to Oz for Perth Festival 2014.
UPDATE 30/01/14: A change of venue the Sydney show on Saturday, 8th February has been announced. The new show will take place at the Metro Theatre instead of Ivy and will now run from 7pm – 2am. All tickets that have been previously purchased for Ivy will be valid for entry to the Metro.
The lineup remains the same and will run across two rooms – the Metro’s main room and The Lair. Refunds will be offered from Moshtix and Ticket Fairy to people who can no longer attend due to the change in event running times.
