3. Statistically, music is getting worse.

With the steady decline of songs charting from 2001 onwards, signs seem to point to the fact that, yes, music may be getting worse. Statistically speaking, music must have peaked in 1997, but that’s also the year that Chumbawamba‘s Tubthumping and Pauline Pantsdown‘s Back Door Man placed in the top 10, so perhaps that’s not such an accurate way to judge. Maybe we simply get more nostalgic for old songs as time goes on, but if the above chart is anything to go by, there will be zero good music by the year 2023. That’s sad.
