7. We have collectively decided to forget Thrift Shop ever happened.
This is fucking awesome…until we’re voting in the classics and then BLAMMO! Novelty songs are nowhere to be seen. We may have called Thrift Shop our number 1 song of 2012 only 5 short months ago but it didn’t make the cut over the weekend. Case in point number 2: The Offspring‘s Pretty Fly For A White Guy, which took out the coveted number 1 possie in 1998 and is nowhere to be seen in this list. And Dennis Leary‘s Asshole, the first ever number 1 in 1993 with no showing in the 20 Years list.
