PREMIERE: Liv Cartledge Gets Deeply Personal In New Video ‘Rogue Dog’

Melbourne songwriter Liv Cartledge hasn’t released music in two years, but her first single of 2019, ‘Rogue Dog’, proves to be a deeply personal introspective journey through some of her darkest thoughts, only to come out stronger than before.

Of the song, Cartledge made sure she kept it as transparent as possible.

“This song is a reflection of getting a grip on depression, becoming somebody you don’t recognise and then coming out the other side reasonably okay,” she said in a statement.

“I’ve always tried to be fairly transparent in my songwriting and the story I’m trying to tell. This one is pretty personal.”

On top of the song, Cartledge has also dropped a video for it, and she has made sure she kept that equally as transparent.

“This isn’t a glam video and that was never my intention,” she said in a statement about the Steven Diffey-directed video.

“This song is about depression and the feeling that the ‘rogue dog’ is always following you or lurking, waiting to kick you right in the guts.”
