LISTEN: Perth’s The Faim Unleash Irresistibly Dancey New Single ‘Me Because Of You’

Perth pop-rock exports The Faim have just unleashed another new single off their imminent sophomore LP Talk Talk and we dare you not to dance to it.

Dubbed ‘Me Because Of You’, the tune is an infectiously dancey and soulful, synth-laced bop that sounds like the results of The 1975 hitting up Jason Derulo for a collab.

As bassist and keyboardist Stephen Beerkens explains, ‘Me Because of You’ was written about embracing change and letting go of past versions of yourself.

“The lyrics recognise the huge impact someone else can have on the process,” he says. “This song was a huge milestone for us, as it’s our first release that has been self-produced!”

‘Me Because of You’ arrives after The Faim announced their first Australian tour in three years this July, which comes on the heels of performances at massive international rock festivals Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park & Download UK.

Recorded between Los Angeles and Perth, The Faim worked with several big-name producers on their forthcoming record Talk Talk, including Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Yungblud, Machine Gun Kelly), Erik Ron (Panic! At the Disco, Godsmack, Set It Off), and Matthew Pauling (Palaye Royale, 5 Seconds of Summer, State Champs) to showcase the band’s vast range of styles and tones.

The record will reach our ears on Friday, 8th July.

Until then, you can catch ‘Me Because Of You’ streaming below.
