Off the back of collaborating with huge names like Sarah Aarons (Dua Lipa, Zedd), Alex Hope (Troye Sivan, Tove Lo) and Justin Tranter (Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez), Sydney producer Sakr has unveiled his latest track, a moody electro gem dubbed ‘Home Again’.
Premiering via Music Feeds below, the dark chiller is anchored by throbbing bass and topped off by haunting vocals and glitchy production.
“The song is about the surrender of falling into dark places over and over again,” Sakr explains. “The jagged nature of the arrangement and the complex sound design, is a sonic projection of how frantic and uneasy my mind moves in those places.”
Sakr is the solo project from producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and visual artist Sam Sakr, who chronicled the production of ‘Home Again’ with some amazing photos and a studio diary, which you can also check out below.

SAKR Tour Diary #1
Towards the end of last year, I was feeling incredibly anxious and creatively drained. I had spent a lot of time in big cities, and the hustle made me feel claustrophobic and depressed. So on a whim I booked a ticket to NZ and left the next day. I bought a camera at the airport, and headed to NZ. While I was there, I took photos of the landscape and those photo’s inspired the sound design of the Sakr project. -

My musical process is always changing and unpredictable. But often me and a piano is where I start. For 'Home Again' this was the case, I starting playing this moody chord progression and starting humming and had the base for the song within a few minutes. -

This was taken after a big day in the studio. My face sums up the mood. -
SAKR Tour Diary #4
I'm an introvert. I'm camera shy. So covering my face is a common occurrence when a camera is around. -

So my manager loves my hate for cameras and made me do a photoshoot, because content, social media… all things I struggle with. So being camera shy, as you can imagine it was high anxiety situation for me.
