PREMIERE: Spin Kiwi Indie Crew Mako Road’s Cruisy New EP ‘Local Safari’ Ahead Of Release

New Zealand indie powerhouse Mako Road are inviting listeners on a Local Safari courtesy of their brand new EP and — lucky you — we’ve got your VIP ticket!

Premiering exclusively via Music Feeds below ahead of its official release on Friday November 30th, the follow-up to the Kiwis’ debut EP THE GREEN SUPERINTENDENT is a summery blend of lush vocals, reggae grooves and delicious guitar lines.

“The Local Safari EP was written with more focus on where we want to go with our live sound,” explains lead vocalist Rhian Ward.

“‘Happiness & Misery’ and ‘Open Plan Living’ are a step in a different direction, we wanted to push the boat out a bit musically. CJ’s bass fills and slap bass feature in this EP and Connor brings more developed effects and variety in his lead guitar.

“Lyrically I wanted to have variety as well,” he continues. “We chose ‘Local Safari’ as the single cos it best sums up our attitude towards life at the moment. We get heaps out of travelling round and meeting people, seeing new places and experiences. Its been a huge part of this year for us, and we’ve all cleared our summer schedules so we can do more of it over the next few months.”

To celebrate the EP’s arrival, Mako Road will also be coming to Australia for a tour this December, which will see them bring the live vibes to venues in Melbourne, Wollongong, Sydney, Byron Bay & Brisbane.
