Sydney indie-folk artist Oly Sherman plays with stirring, atmospheric and textured sounds on his stunning new EP ‘Three Oh Three’, premiering today on Music Feeds.
On the deeply personal EP, Sherman moved between light and dark sonic textures as he draws inspiration from some of the most profound and significant experiences of his life. One such experience informed the EP’s title track, Three Oh Three, which tells the emotional toll of a heart procedure that left Sherman with a pacemaker and a constant reminder of its presence.
“My pacemaker which I had put in two years ago would literally tick over every day at 3:03pm and it sent me a little insane,” explains the artist. “I could basically narrow it down and describe the sensation through writing music and lyrics that I had come up with.”
