PREMIERE: Sydney Miller Takes Pop Music For A Joyride On ‘Out From The Inside’

Melbourne-based artist, producer, and songwriter, Sydney Miller, released her debut EP, The Inside, in February 2022. We’re premiering the music video for the EP’s lead single, ‘Out From the Inside’.

Miller is a 22 year old musician working at the intersection of indie pop and dance music, at times resembling artists such as Kimbra and Tune-Yards. Miller originally released ‘Out From the Inside’ in 2020, during the peak of Melbourne’s elongated COVID lockdown.

“Out From The Inside was the first song I ever wrote, produced, recorded, then released,” Miller said in a statement to Music Feeds. “It was released back in 2020 and I didn’t know at the time that it would be the lead single off, and inspiration for, my first EP.”

Miller worked with director Gemma Carfi on the ‘Out From the Inside’ music video. Maxine Zanoni produced the video and Ollie Manton handled the cinematography. “I told my director, Gemma Carfi, that it needed an illusionary effect with mirrors, and her and her team took that and ran with it,” Miller said of the video’s inspiration.

The Inside also features the singles ‘Dollhouse’, ‘Running Out’, ‘In the Office’ and ‘Bad News’. Sydney Miller will set up at Melbourne venue The Gasometer Hotel every Wednesday night in June. She’ll be supported by Orange Orange, Stella Bridie, Holly Hebe, Oscar Lush and others over the course of the five-show residency. Tickets available here.
