Japanese Soundwave imports Coldrain have achieved international acclaim courtesy of their high-energy brand of dynamic, explosive metalcore blended with post-hardcore screamery. The band’s unique sound and technical prowess has helped them become one of the most respected heavy things to come out of Japan, alongside their Soundwave buddies Crossfaith and, of course, Godzilla.
The five-piece have exploded since the 2009 release of their debut album, Final Destination, the titular song of which has become a steadfast fan favourite, clocking up over a million views on YouTube (below).
Coldrain are scheduled to bring their pulverising blend of melodic metalcore to Soundwave’s Stage 5 at 5.20 pm on Slipknot day.
