A Festival Called Panama 2024: King Stingray, The Beths, Kaiit + More

A Festival Called Panama will set up camp in lutruwita/Tasmania’s Lone Star Valley, in the state’s north east, in March 2024. The lineup for the festival’s tenth outing is led by Yirrkala funk rockers King Stingray, Aotearoa power pop unit The Beths, and neo soul and R&B artist Kaiit.

A Festival Called Panama is the brainchild of Holy Holy frontperson Tim Carroll, who co-founded the event with Dan Rooke in 2012. This year’s festival will run from Friday, 8th to Sunday, 10th March. You must enter the ballot for a chance at securing tickets. You can do so here.

The 2024 lineup also includes Melbourne/Naarm heart-on-the-sleeve pub rockers Floodlights, a collaborative performance by Jen Cloher and Māori performing arts group T’HONI, Warnindilyakwa singer-songwriter Emily Wurramara, jazzy krautrock ensemble Mildlife, Sydney indie dance personality Skeleten and plenty more.

Kids under four are welcome to attend Panama for free. There are discounted tickets available for people between five and 11 years old and 12 and 17 years old. The festival begins in earnest on the Saturday, but there’s a pre-party on the Friday night, which adults can attend for an extra $50. Otherwise, adult weekend tickets will set you back $380 (plus booking fee).
