A Kanye West Documentary Is Reportedly Coming To Netflix

A 21 years in the making documentary following Kanye West’s life is coming to Netflix, according to Billboard. Apparently, it’s part of a multi-million dollar deal.

Billboard initially reported that sources had said the project was sold to Netflix in a massive $30 million USD deal.

Variety later disputed that figure saying, “a person familiar with the matter tells Variety that that is not an accurate figure.”

Netflix is yet to comment on the matter.

The doco will come in the form of a multi-part docuseries. It’ll show never before seen footage from Kanye’s life.

And it’s set to include home videos and rare, behind the scenes footage.

Music video production duo, Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, more commonly known as Coodie & Chike sold the series to Netflix.

They’re the team behind Kanye’s ‘Jesus Walks (Version 3)’ and ‘Through the Wire’ videos.

News of the series comes after West’s old bodyguard shared information around a Kanye West doco.

Steve Stanulis, who worked as Ye’s bodyguard in 2016 revealed he’d been contacted by two different streaming platforms.

He said they were both looking to create a documentary.

It doesn’t seem like these projects are related at the moment.

The series is expected to be released later this year.
