ABC’s ‘The Sound’ Returns This Week With Vance Joy, Vera Blue & More

The Sound is back on our tele screens from this weekend, returning just in time for Ausmusic Month.

Season 3, Episode 1 of ABC’s Australian music program will air this Sunday, 7th November, and they’ve recruited a lineup of local bigwigs for the relaunch.

Vance Joy will perform his latest single, ‘Missing Piece’, captured live at La Paloma Dance Hall in Vance’s current home of Barcelona; Vera Blue returns to The Sound to perform her new single, ‘Temper’; and WA four-piece Spacey Jane offer a killer performance of their latest single, ‘Lunchtime’, filmed in the carbon negative venue, Red Hill Auditorium, just outside Perth.

Arnhem Land surf-rockers King Stingray are also on board for The Sound reboot, while Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans, Jebediah), Charlie Collins and Lisa Mitchell with Sam Teskey (The Teskey Brothers) will collaborate on a tribute to living country legend Kasey Chambers.

Once again produced by Mushroom Studios, The Sound season three is advertised as sharper and shorter, with less talk and more music. Along with the filmed performances, each episode will include a different well known guest presenter who’ll be chatting with one of the featured acts. To kick things off, The Sound has called on one of Australia’s favourite comedians and broadcasters, Andy Lee.

See it all go down at 5.30pm this Sunday, 7th November on ABC TV or ABC iview.
