Alabama Shakes Lock In Headline Sydney Show

American soul rockers Alabama Shakes have locked in a Sydney headline date for next year. The performance will be the band’s one and only headline show in Sydney, around the time they’re set to play Bluesfest and Big Sky Blues & Roots Festival in early April.

Led by the powerful vocals of Brittany Howard, Alabama Shakes’ sound couples bluesy riffs with garage R & B revivalism, their live shows delving into the moody tones of southern rock and the ecstatic highs of Memphis soul.

Alabama Shakes released their debut album, Boys & Girls, in 2012, after a self-titled debut EP in 2011. The group played in Australia in 2013, performing at Big Day Out and playing sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne. The tour marked the band’s first ever performances down under.

At their 2015 Sydney headline show, the band will be supported by fellow Bluesfest 2015 acts Charles Bradley And His Extraordinaires.

Alabama Shakes’ Sydney headline show will take place at the Enmore Theatre on Thursday, 2nd April. Show and ticket details are available below.
