Aldous Harding Announces New Album ‘Warm Chris’ And Shares Lead Single

New Zealand born, Wales-based singer-songwriter Aldous Harding has announced a new album, Warm Chris. The follow-up to 2019’s Designer is set to arrive on Friday, 25th March via 4AD/Remote Control.

The 10-track album was recorded at Rockfield Studios, with Harding linking up with Party and Designer producer John Paris once again. The album features contributions from Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods, Welsh songwriter H. Hawkline, Polar Bear’s Seb Rochford and more.

To coincide with the announcement, Harding has shared lead single ‘Lawn’, a buoyant piano-led cut that arrives alongside a video directed by Harding herself along with Martin Sagadin.

“Listening back, it sounds to me like there’s something completely new happening with my voice,” Aldous told BBC6‘s Lauren Laverne in a recent interview. “The vocals are tiny. I won’t try to speak about sound too much, because it’s here, and I don’t want to ruin or create a surprise. It reminds me personally/musically of a large horse trying to keep up with a train.”

Of the video, Harding added: “This video is pretty luxurious for me, but that’s what I saw when I shut my eyes and said ‘Show me,’ that sort of thing. So that’s what we made. Turns out it was just the thing. Music’s wonderful that way.”
