Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ Music Video Smashed A Massive YouTube Record

The entire Internet is buzzing with talk of Ariana Grande‘s new music video for her biggest ever track ‘Thank U, Next’, and turns out it is smashing all sorts of records.

Arguably the most talked about pop song of the year, the video now holds the record for most views in a 24 hour period. The record was previously held by K-pop superstars BTS with 45.9 million views in 24 hours – ‘Thank U, Next’ hit 46 million in just 22 hours.

At the time of writing, the video has 69.2 million views and it’s been out for less than 48 hours so we’re sure some more records are about to be broken.

On top of that, the video also broke a Vevo record by achieving 50 million views in a 24 hour period. The record was previously held by Taylor Swift with her hit ‘Look What You Made Me Do’.

This is just a few of the heap of records the song that helped Ariana break, as she now is the most listened to artist on Spotify. The song also became the fastest ever song to crack 100 million streams on the platform.

The video draws inspiration from four classic teen movies – Bring It OnMean Girls, 13 Going On 30 and Legally Blonde – and even features some stars from those films, with Mean Girls’ Jonathan Bennett and Legally Blonde‘s Jennifer Coolidge reprising their roles from the video.

It is also stacked with other celebrity cameos, including Troye Sivan, Colleen Ballinger, Matt Bennett, Liz Gillies, Stefanie Drummond and, most notably, ‘cool mum’ Kris Jenner.
