In a commendably innovative move, the Sydney Opera House has brought together 100 of Australia’s most prominent musicians for a version of Nick Cave‘s The Ship Song.
Artists to take part in the project include Paul Kelly, Sarah Blasko, The Temper Trap, Daniel Johns and Neil Finn. Also making an appearance, according to Triple J, are The Australian Ballet, Sydney Symphony, Opera Australia, and the Bangarra Dance Theatre.
The Ship Song appeared on the album The Good Son, which came out in 1990. The song was also released as a single and has been widely covered by other artists down the years.
