Tim Lambesis, frontman and founding member of San Diego metalcore outfit As I Lay Dying, has been arrested for allegedly soliciting an undercover detective to kill his estranged wife.
Reuters reports that Lambesis was arrested at approximately 2:00pm yesterday (7:00am AEST today local time) on Vista Way, Oceanside, a Californian coastal city just north of San Diego.
The 32-year-old has been under investigation since last Thursday, after authorities received information that the singer was trying to recruit someone to carry out the killing. Lambesis has been booked into the Vista Jail on suspicion of solicitation of murder.
As I Lay Dying have released six studio albums and were nominated for the Grammy for Best Metal Performance off the back of Nothing Left, the first single from their latest album An Ocean Between Us.
