Ash Grunwald Announces National Tour, Shares New Single ‘Second Guess’

Homegrown troubadour Ash Grunwald has announced a massive 28-date national tour in support of his forthcoming album Now, and has shared the latest single from the record, Second Guess.

Grunwald’s Now national album tour will kick off in September, and will include metropolitan, rural and festival shows right through until mid-November. Catch the full list of dates, below.

Taken from Now, the groovy Second Guess pairs tight percussion with a synth bass line. Stream the track in full, below.

Now will be Grunwald’s eighth studio album. Produced by Nick Didia, who has worked with the likes of Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen, the album takes a more experimental approach, with Grunwald calling it “modern psychedelic, sci-fi, swamp rock, blues album, if there is such a thing”.

Grunwald says he approached the album like a classic power trio would. “I wanted to go in there with a traditional power trio like Hendrix but use a synth player instead of a bass, Ian Peres brought that and a whole lot more playing a fair bit of rock organ in there which is something that he honed whilst playing in Wolfmother.

“Nick [Didia’s] approach was to basically coach the band into doing the best possible performances as he pulled the sound he was chasing in real time. The aim was for the end product to be as close as possible to e what we were delivering live in the studio.”

Now has been made possible thanks to a crowdfunding campaign on Pledge Music, which will continue to run until the record is released on 25th September. Until then, catch full details of Grunwald’s upcoming tour, below.
