You really have to ponder the thought process of someone who decides to write their name and contact info on a bag of illegal drugs at a music festival.
Were they just trying to be a funny c*nt? Or did they legitimately think a good samaritan might — out of the kindness of his or her heart — return the baggie to its rightful owner, should it go astray?
Either way, that’s exactly what some doofus at this year’s Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival did, along with essentially doing police’s job for them.
Imagine the drug squad’s surprise when, after recovering a Coles zip-lock bag filled with a crushed up crystalline powder, they found it was helpfully labelled with: “[name withheld]’s MDMA, if found call 04 [number withheld]” in black sharpie:
Police say this information made their job easier recently when found at a Maroochydore music festival earlier this month. ? pic.twitter.com/xYFijdQaQI

Needless to say, it didn’t take the fuzz long to — uh — crack the case.
As News Corp Australia reports, a 21-year-old Dalby man will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court later this month, charged with drug offences.
