Aussie Musos Announce ‘Bowie In Berlin’ Tribute Concert Series

January 2017 won’t just mark 70 years since David Bowie‘s birth, but also the anniversary of one of his most formative albums, 1977’s Low. To celebrate the release in appropriate style, ‘Bowie In Berlin’ will be meandering its way through Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

This won’t just be just any old David Bowie celebration, either. At the reins of ‘Bowie In Berlin’ is Bad Seeds/Birthday Party member Mick Harvey as Musical Director. To bring the performance to life, Harvey has tagged a crowd of worthy vocalists. The team includes Kylie Auldist, Dave Graney, Ron Peno, Kim Salmon and Max Sharam.

Harvey has pieced together a show comprised of choice Bowie cuts from between 1977 and 1979, and those familiar with Bowie will know that includes other albums Heroes and Lodger. Known as the ‘The Berlin Trilogy’, these albums ushered in a new era for Bowie, who had already shocked much of the planet with Ziggy, but no one was prepared for the sonic invasion of his back-to-Europe phase.

With some considerable talent of their own, no doubt Harvey and co. will masterfully have their audiences reminiscing. Catch the ‘Bowie In Berlin’ national tour dates, below.
