Australia Misses Out On Global Listening Parties For New Judas Priest Album

Judas Priest have just announced a stack of international listening parties for later this week, giving fans around the globe the chance to enjoy an exclusive sneak peak of their new album Invincible Shield before it drops everywhere next Friday, 8th March.

The global listening event will be taking place at metal bars at more than thirty locations across multiple countries this coming Thursday. However, very sadly, Australia has completely missed out.

There will be multiple Priest events happening across dive bars in North America, the UK and Europe, but sadly, zilch announced for fans down under, at least as of yet. We’ll let you know if that changes though.

Invincible Shield will mark the British metal icons’ 20th studio album, forming the follow-up to 2018’s Firepower LP.

In a 2023 interview with Audio Ink Radio, Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner said, “There are definitely a few more twists and turns on this record. There are a few more musical parts. So, there might be a bit of… As I said, there are twists and turns.”

He continued: “I’ve used the word ‘progressive’ before, and the Internet ripped me a new asshole. But it is progressive in the sense that it’s not like verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus-finish. It’s musical part-verse-musical part. It might do a few twists and turns, musically. It veers from the path of it, a bit like ‘Sinner’ or ‘Tyrant’ or something like that. So, it’s a bit more ’70s Priest…but it’s not a retro album, by any means.”

Judas Priest are gearing up for a UK tour in support of the new album. They last visited us here in Australia back in 2015, when they appeared on the ill-fated Soundwave festival lineup.
