A brand-new Americana-themed festival called Dashville Skyline will hit New South Wales’ Hunter Valley this October long weekend, and today the event has made its first artist lineup announcement.
The first-ever Dashville Skyline will feature performances from Canadian songwriter Afie Jurvanen, aka Bahamas, Australian alt-country band Wagons (pictured), Sydney four-piece All Our Exes Live in Texas, Lachlan Bryan & The Wildes, Texan psych-country act The Lonesome Heroes and singer-songwriter Melody Pool, amongst others.
Dashville Skyline is promising to put a twist on Americana music and culture, and aims to embrace the Americana music scene within Australia.
Dashville Skyline organiser Matt Johnston says the event’s lineup will mirror the genre’s history. “This is the first taste of a line up designed to reflect the sparse musical lineage between traditional roots music and modern Americana,” Johnston says.
“We’ve already sold out of our early-bird ticket allocation without an artist announcement, which is fantastic. I think that people connect with the genre and are excited about the concept of this festival.”
Aside from performances, Dashville Skyline 2015 will also feature songwriting sessions, American cuisine, American cars and pretty much anything associated with Americana.
Dashville Skyline 2015 will kick off on Saturday, 3rd October 2015, at the Dashville bushland venue at Belford in the Hunter Valley. The festival’s second lineup announcement is set to arrive at the end of July.
