Although for a while it looked as if no venue in Australia could possibly hold two of the biggest heavy metal acts touring today, Soundwave 2014 organisers have announced a very special string of Melbourne and Sydney Sidewaves featuring Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch.
Superstars A7X found success with a seemingly unstoppable raft of best-selling albums, including their 2005 breakthrough LP, City Of Evil, and 2007’s Avenged Sevenfold. Since then, the band has become a heavy metal force, taking their spectacular live show across the globe.
The band’s notoriety and immense fan base has seen them play some of the world’s most iconic and prestigious festivals, including Germany’s Rick Im Park and Rock Am Ring, the Pinkpop Festival in Holland, and the UK’s Donington Park, all adding to the band’s streak of conquests.
The boys will be joined by Five Finger Death Punch, who command a reputation as one of the most raucous and dynamic live bands in the world. They’ll be touring on the heels of albums number four and five, the acclaimed The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell Vol. 1 & Vol 2.
Tickets for this incredible night of metal go on sale 9:00am AEDT Thursday, 6th February, with the shows kicking off at Sydney’s Big Top on Tuesday, 25th February and concluding Thursday, 27th February at Festival Hall in Melbourne. Readers can check below for all ticketing details.
UPDATE 4:50pm 04/02/14: Soundwave have announced a change of date for Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch’s Melbourne show. Their Festival Hall concert will now take place on Wednesday, 26th February, the night after the Sydney show. All other details remain the same.
Soundwave have also confirmed that UK metalcore outfit Asking Alexandria will appear on the bill, opening for A7X and FFDP, following-up a raft of sold-out European and North American headline tours and the release of the band’s latest LP, From Death To Destiny.
