Azealia Banks boils the remains of her dead cat in now-deleted Instagram videos

Let’s reset our “Days since Azealia Banks’ last controversy” countdown to 0 because today, the US rapper has shared in a since-deleted series of Instagram videos, footage of her appearing to exhume the remains of her dead cat Lucifer. She did so in order to boil his bones for a home taxidermy job.

The post’s caption read “Lucifer. 2009-2020. My Dear kitty. Thank you for everything. A legend. An icon. Forever a serval serve.”

She later posted an image to her stories showing the cat’s skull on an altar alongside a bottle of champagne, a cigar, a $100 note and a bottle of Chanel Number 5 perfume.

In a series of follow-up Instagram stories, Banks defended her actions, saying that “the cats head is soaking in peroxide to fully clean him, and then I’m taking him to a jewelry shop to have it gilded”. Read her full statements below.

This is not the first time Banks has posted her rather grotesque witchy doings on the internet. Back in 2016, she discussed the difficulties of “brujeria cleanup” in a video that showed her sandblasting chicken blood off her walls, left there from previous sacrifices she had said she had done.

Gnarly.
