The Band Behind This Week’s triple J Feature Album Cheekily Respond To Brutal Reviews

Melbourne band Jaala‘s debut album Hard Hold has been the feature album on triple j all this week but it seems that it’s been a divisive one with the band cheekily drawing attention to some of the scathing reviews they’ve received throughout the week.

The band’s label Wondercore Island posted on Facebook some of the reviews that have been left on the triple j website by listeners this week, with one person saying it “Could be the worst collection of music ever put together.”

Another said, “Honestly think the boys and I could mock something up over a weekend and get a feature album spot.”

Now, Jaala themselves have shared the post and responded to the haters criticism in the most perfect way possible.

“Richie King has made a big mistake…. The people of Oz are unsettled by our music,” wrote frontwoman Cosima Jaala.

“Never been more proud. Suffer! It’s gonna be played heaps more before he week is out ha ha ha (evil cackle).”

triple J listeners aren’t known for holding back their opinions. Last month when Courtney Barnett won the J Award for Album of the Year, there were some particularly scathing listeners that took to the stations Facebook page with one simply writing “RIP music.”
