Barack Obama Reckons Ya Girl Courtney Barnett Had One Of The Best Songs Of 2018

Former cool President Barack Obama has weighed in with his thoughts on the year’s best songs, and he’s given a shoutout to one of our own.

The ex-POTUS has included Melbourne singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett‘s single ‘Need A Little Time’ on his list of fave tunes from the year just past, which also includes tracks from The Carters (‘Apeshit’), Chance the Rapper (‘My Own Thing’), J. Cole (‘Kevin’s Heart’), Cardi B (‘I Like It’), Prince’s posthumous single ‘Mary Don’t You Weep’ and many more.

It’s not hugely surprising that Barnett made the cut though, considering that Obama’s been a fanboy since way back (ICYMI the former Prez included her 2015 single ‘Elevator Operator’ on both his workout and summer Spotify playlists in 2016, while he was still in the Oval Office no less).

The ex-Leader of the Free World is highly regarded for his musical taste, with Spotify even offering him a playlist curating job after he left the White House back in 2017.

Cop a squiz of his list of favourite songs from 2018 below.
