Ben Folds Is Touring Australia In 2018, And You Can Request The Songs

Pop nonconformist Ben Folds has revealed that he’ll return to Australia in 2018, for a run of new solo shows in theatres around the country.

Folds will perform his typically high-energy shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart in February, and there’s still at least one Melbourne performance still to be announced.

At each of the shows, the singer-songwriter will spend the first half of the gig playing songs from across his discography, while the second half will be a ‘Paper Aeroplane Request’ set, with audience members writing song requests on paper before folding them into paper planes and throwing them at the stage for Folds to randomly select.

Folds’ latest solo album Way To Normal was released in 2008, and he last toured Australia in 2016 with New York neo-classical ensemble yMusic.
