The announce date for the second Big Day Out 2014 lineup announcement has been confirmed as next Tuesday, 19th November, to take place on the triple j morning show, Breakfast with Tom and Alex. The announcement follows several delays in the reveal of the second lineup.

Big Day Out CEO Adam Zammit originally claimed that the second announcement would happen in September, later revealing via Twitter that an early November release was more likely. Meanwhile, BDO boss Ken West told FasterLouder that the announce will take the 2014 roster up to “45 acts.”

The 2014 event currently has an announced lineup of 32 acts, including headliners Pearl Jam, Blur, and Arcade Fire, and West indicated that punters should not expect any “massive” acts to join them. Recent BDO investor AJ Maddah referred to the announce as a “supplementary announcement.”

West also told FL that the second announcement would “correct” the omission of heavier acts, saying “I do know that it’s a little light on [the heavier] front, but some of the second announcement stuff will correct that.” One act that reportedly has potential for the second announce is Dethklok.
