Bigsound 2015 Just Got Bigger Than Ever Before

To hell with cranking it to 11, BIGSOUND 2015 has just cranked it to 150.

The annual music industry showcase has upped the ante for 2015, adding an unprecedented 100 new artists to the fold, as well as an extra venue.

A century-and-a-half of artists have now been confirmed to perform across 15 venues at this year’s two-night Live event, with newly-announced acts Tired Lion, The Belligerents, JOY., A Breach of Silence, Brissie rockers DrawCard, Melbourne industrial metallers Witchgrinder, and more joining previously announced acts such as Stonefield, Gang of Youths, Holy Holy, Katy Steele and Cosmic Psychos.

Organisers have hailed it as “the biggest, best and most diverse BIGSOUND lineup in its fourteen year
history”, while unveiling this year’s official list of participating venues.

Triple J’s Unearthed stage will find a home at Oh Hello, with two stages operating at both Brightside and Woolly Mammoth, with other stages set up across Black Bear Lodge, Crowbar, Press Club, Ric’s Bar, The Elephant Hotel, The Foundry, the delightfully-titled Flying Cock, The Zoo, The New Globe and one final mystery venue, which has yet to be announced.

As well as access to all venues and the monster lineup of bands, punters heading to the industry conference portion of this year’s BIGSOUND will also get to hear a host of industry speakers from around the globe, including Midnight Oil front man and former politician Peter Garrett and US rapper and activist Brother Ali.

Australia’s biggest music industry conference, BIGSOUND is set to take place across Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley from September 9th-11th, for three days of panels, discussions, industry seminars and, of course, live music.

Tickets are on sale now. Check out the expanded lineup for 2015, below.

UPDATE 07/08/15: BIGSOUND Live’s 2015 lineup has expanded even further with the addition of Brisbane shoegaze and noise pop act Deafcult and emerging hip hop artist Gill Bates. Catch the full updated lineup, below.
