As if the 150+ act lineup for BIGSOUND 2016 wasn’t – ah – BIG enough already, it’s just been stuffed with another two new additions, courtesy of triple j Unearthed.
Every year, the station puts on its own pair of showcases at Fortitude Valley’s Oh Hello!, spotlighting some of the best new talent in town, and offers two Brissie locals the chance to open both shows.
And this year, the lucky winners are…
Local producer Golden Vessel and Brisbane-via-NT singer Emily Wurramara
They’ll be joining fellow Unearthed acts Mosquito Coast, Alex Lahey, Sampa the Great and more for the J-exclusive showcases, not to mention Briggs/Trails fusion A.B Original, ARIA certified DZ Deathrays, guitar wunderkid Harts, hip hop prodigy Tkay Maidza, the unstoppable Vera Blue and literally over 100 more artists on the BIGSOUND Live lineup en masse.
The conference element of BIGSOUND has also shaped up to be equally huge, with A.B Original expected to give a gripping keynote interview alongside Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall and UNIFIED main man Jaddan Comerford.
