The collaboration has been in the works for at least a year. As reported by Pitchfork, Rosalía told Zane Lowe back in April of 2020 that she thought it was almost finished.
“I think it’s getting quite close… I finished the arrangements,” she said.
“I feel like the production, the sound design is almost done, so I just need Billie to send the vocals and they send me the ideas that they want to add because we are there.”
Both Eilish and Rosalía released music steadily throughout 2020. Eilish kicked off the year with her Bond song ‘No Time To Die’, following that up with ‘my future’ and ‘Therefore I Am’.
Rosalía kicked off the year with the more traditional sounding ‘Juro Que’ before backing that up with ‘TKN’ alongside Travis Scott.
