Our favourite Texan blues and soul outfit, Black Joe Lewis, have just busted out the video for their smokin’ hot new single, Come To My Party, which comes off their recently dropped fourth full length studio effort, Electric Slave. Both the clip and the album show perfectly why Black Joe Lewis are the current kings of party music.
The clip is three minutes of pure joy, with the visuals doing exactly what the vocals tell them to: coming to your party and bringing your best friend. Do be careful at Black Joe Lewis’s house party, though – we suspect someone might have spiked the punch. Oops.
Electric Slave, which was produced by Grammy Award winner Stuart Sikes, is one spectacular mash of blues, soul, funk and garage from the Austin rockers. On the new album, the band have added some straight rock & roll to their sublime formula of funk and soul and the investment is paying dividends. It’s out now in Australia through Vagrant/Shock Records.
