Blink 182 Recording Demos For New Album

Pop-punk trio Blink-182 seem to be keeping to their promise to have a new album out by the time their headlining spot for the UK’s 2014 Reading and Leeds festivals rolls around, with bass player Mark Hoppus confirming via Twitter the band are working on new demos.

Last December in an interview with Radio.com, Hoppus said he, drummer Travis Barker and guitarist/vocalist Thomas DeLonge, would be heading into the studio in January with a view to playing new material during their Reading-Leeds headlining spots in August.

“We are coming with new material,” said Hoppus. “We go into the studio after the holidays, and the goal is to have an album out in time for the festival.” As Gigwise reports, the band’s headline sets will be their only UK shows for 2014.

Now, Hoppus has confirmed on Twitter that work on the new record has begun, sharing a screenshot of the band’s new demos. No release date, album name or future touring plans have been revealed by the band. Blink 182 will headline this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals alongside Arctic Monkeys and a third, as yet unannounced headliner.
