Bloc Party Now Working On Fourth Studio Album

Kele Okereke has confirmed that Bloc Party have started work on their fourth studio album after speaking to BBC1 Radio DJ Zane Lowe earlier tonight (Early morning in the UK).

The band went on hiatus in late 2010 after finishing commitments with their third album One More Chance, going their separate ways to work on their own projects, Okereke working on his solo albums The Boxer and The Hunter, and guitarist Russell Lissack briefly joining the live line-up of Irish rock-band Ash.

The band had joked in an interview with the NME last year when Okereke had suggested he feared that he was on the verge of being kicked out of the band, and Lissack joining in by stating that they would record new music as an instrumental group and perhaps get a new singer, before revealing it was all a joke by posting a comment on their website stating “Bloc Party is still Bloc Party”.

They’re are now currently in New York recording the album, and have over 15 songs written for the record.
