Byron Bay Bluesfest 2014 is fast approaching and soon fans of blues, folk, rock and roll, roots, and everything in between will be delighted by some of the most acclaimed acts in these genres. Before that, the organisers have announced more sideshow activity from Beth Hart and The Wailers!
The festival is now five lineup announcements in and boasts what might be the most spectacular festival lineup in a decade, with such acts as John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Buddy Guy, KT Tunstall, Erykha Badu, Gregg Allman, Jeff Beck, Elvis Costello, and many, many more.
Sideshow news has also been pouring in, with headlining appearances scheduled for many of the aforementioned acts, plus shows from Iron & Wine, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, KC & The Sunshine Band, and Booker T Jones––see all of the sideshow action at our special Feed.
Beth Hart Tour Dates
A singing and songwriting powerhouse that anyone will tell you is simply not to be missed, Beth Hart will be making her Australian debut with performances at The Basement in Sydney and Melbourne’s esteemed Corner Hotel, in addition of course to her appearance at Bluesfest this April.
Hart’s incredible voice, that combines elements of Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks and is able to command a raft of genres, has led her to collaboration with the likes of Jeff Beck and Slash and has garnered praise from Bluesfest Director Peter Noble, who labelled her “as good as it gets.”

The Wailers Announce Melbourne Show
Reggae royalty in every sense of the word, The Wailers have already announced that they will be bringing their mission to keeping to the music of the late great Bob Marley alive to venues in Brisbane, Cairns, and Sydney, and have now announced the addition of a Melbourne date.
Joining the band for their Sydney and Melbourne dates will be special guests Sly & Robbie and The TAXI Gang, featuring legendary producers and musicians Sly Dunbar on drums and Robbie Shakespeare on bass, and the incredible vocal talents of British/Jamaican singer Bitty McLean.
