Camp Cope Have Announced Their First Sydney Show in Over Three Years

Sydney institution the Metro Theatre will reopen next month for the first time since the pandemic forced venues around the country to shut their doors, and they’re kicking things off with a bang.

Melbourne emo trio Camp Cope will perform their first Sydney headline show in over three years, when they played the Metro as part of their 2018 tour. That’s taking place on Wednesday, 16th June. Support for the show will come from Coconut Cream – the first band signed to ex-Gang of Youths guitarist Joji Malani’s new label Broth Records.

Camp Cope’s forthcoming show is part of the venue’s 7 Day Weekend series, which is part of the larger Sydney Solstice festival program.

Elsewhere on the program, deathcore stalwarts Thy Art Is Murder will perform on Thursday, 10th June, while British India and the Getaway Plan will perform on Friday, 11th June and Tuesday, 15th June respectively. Tickets for the 7 Day Weekend series go on sale tomorrow morning at 11am – head to the Metro Theatre site here for details.

Next month will also see the venue play host to a special edition of LGBTQIA+ showcase series Express Yourself, headlined by Alex the Astronaut and also featuring BVT, Hope D, NIK NAVY and No Frills Twins. Tickets for that are on sale now.
